Dr. Camille Wardrop Alleyne is the Founder and CEO of Arusha Space, LLC, a n early-stage space technology startup focused on developing trusted, AI-driven autonomy solutions for next-generation space missions. As a founder, she is building Arusha Space from the ground up, shaping its technical vision, strategic partnerships and long-term growth strategy at the intersection of artificial intelligence, spacecraft and robotic autonomy and geospatial lunar and planetary missions.

A distinguished and results-driven executive, Dr. Alleyne brings over 29 years of experience in aerospace and space technology leadership, including as a senior leader at NASA. She played a pivotal role in the commercialization of space, enabling multi-billion-dollar economies in low Earth orbit and on the Moon. Her leadership included roles as Deputy Program Manager for both the Commercial LEO Development Program and the Commercial Lunar Payload Services Initiative, as well as Assistant Deputy Associate Administrator for Programs in NASA’s Science Mission Directorate.

Beyond her technical achievements, Dr. Alleyne is a global leader in applying space technology for international development and a champion for global science and space education—particularly for women and girls. 

She founded the Brightest Stars Foundation in 2007, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of scientists and engineers. Her foundation’s impact spans North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and Africa, transforming the lives of thousands of young people worldwide.

Dr. Alleyne holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Howard University; a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Florida A&M University; a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park; and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston.

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Alleyne is also a licensed Private Pilot. Her accolades include being a finalist in the NASA Astronaut Selection Program, serving on numerous public and private sector boards, and receiving multiple awards and honors from national and international organizations. Among her distinctions are several NASA Achievement Medals for her contributions to human spaceflight missions. She also serves as a Space and Science Public Diplomat for the U.S. State Department’s Speaker Program and has been recognized by the L’Oréal Group as one of 45 prominent women leading the Caribbean. She has also been lauded as a Caribbean icon in science and technology by the National Institute of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Trinidad and Tobago).
